Free MLB Picks Friday September 15, 2023

In today’s post, I would like to share with you 2 MLB picks that I like a lot.

Yesterday’s free play was a winner, as we took the over in the first half of the Rangers versus Blue Jays meeting.

I added three premium picks at mjpicks.com to my community of savvy sports bettors:

  • Alexander Mattison under 16.5 receiving yards, a bet that won;
  • Dallas Goedert over 47.5 receiving yards, which lost;
  • In college football I recommended to grab Navy +15 points in Memphis. Since they only lost by a four-point margin, we cashed this ticket as well.

All right, let’s get back to our baseball betting business! Today’s two free betting tips will make use of the fact that I am now going AGAINST the advice of “The Blowout #2” betting system. I explained to you in earlier articles how this system has performed very poorly this year, last year and the year before. We’re talking about a big sample size here, so this decision is backed by solid data.

First, let me remind you how this system works: betting AGAINST any team that won its previous game by a margin of at least seven runs if they are now facing a different opponent. However, since I am going against this piece of advice, I am betting ON such teams that just obtained a blowout win against a different squad.

SYSTEM PICK #1: Texas Rangers moneyline (@ -115 odds, at Cleveland Guardians)

Pick number one for Friday September 15 is the Texas Rangers as slight favorites in Cleveland. They are coming off a seven-run victory in Toronto, and since they are indeed playing against another club I will be backing them tonight.

I also like the pitching matchup since Lucas Giolito seems lost right now. He started the season with the White Sox before getting traded to the Angels. In six starts in L.A. he posted a very bad 6.89 ERA so he ended up being waived.

The Guardians picked up him, and things have not gone any better in Cleveland because he has surrendered 9 and 4 runs in his two starts. Overall, he has allowed three runs or more in 7 of his past 8 outings. Things could be any uglier, and he is now about to face the Rangers, a team that has scored the third-most runs in the league.

Here is a final and jaw-dropping fact about Giolito: he has given up exactly three homeruns in each of his past three outings. That’s awful.

Granted, Jon Gray has not fared very well lately either. Over his past four starts, he has allowed 14 earned runs in close to 18 innings. However, I like the fact that he is coming off a short outing against the A’s because that means he will be better rested.

Obviously, the Rangers are flying high after sweeping a critical four-game series in Toronto. They are feeling upbeat, while the Guardians are pretty much out of playoff contention.

SYSTEM PICK #2: New York Mets moneyline (@ -108 odds, vs Cincinnati Reds)

The other team that coming off a blowout win over a different opponent is the New York Mets. They represent my second official pick for September 15 in Major League Baseball.

Since August 30, the Mets have posted a good 8-5 record. Meanwhile, Cincinnati’s season is not going in the right direction after presenting a 17-23 record since the beginning of August. According to ESPN, they hold a 24% chance of making the playoffs right now.

Hunter Greene has had a roller coaster second year in the pro. He is coming off two straight scoreless outings, but prior to that he had given up 5 runs to the Diamondbacks and 9 runs to the Blue Jays. It’s been all or nothing lately for him.

Let’s be honest: David Peterson is not a good starting pitcher. His numbers are pretty bad. He has fared better of late, as shown by his 20 strikeouts versus 4 walks during his past three starts.

I believe the Mets will get the job done. They are playing loose and have scored 25 runs in their past three contests.

Don’t forget to enter my free NFL contest where you could win up to $1,000. Details in my weekly NFL video right here!

I won’t be making a video on Monday since I will still be traveling back from my trip to Toronto and Buffalo to attend the Red Sox versus Blue Jays game on Saturday, and the Raiders versus Bills game on Sunday.

So I’ll talk to you again on Tuesday my friend, I hope you have a great weekend and I wish you the best of luck in my NFL contest!
