I am about to reveal to you my 3 best bets in Major League Baseball for today, Thursday July 20. Are you ready? Let’s go!!

SYSTEM PICK #1: Chicago Cubs (@ -124 odds, vs St. Louis Cardinals)

 

Pick number one goes to the Chicago Cubs full game moneyline. Marcus Stroman is a super reliable pitcher, who will be motivated to get some payback against the Cards. He lost both of his starts against this divisional foe this season.

Stroman went through a more difficult three-game stretch, but he came back to his old self in his last outing. I’m confident he can limit St. Louis’ bats today. Prior to his recent struggles, he had allowed a maximum of two runs in seven straight appearances, which is remarkable! 

 

SYSTEM PICK #2: Under 8.5 Cardinals-Cubs (@ +100 odds)

 

I am also taking under 8.5 to be scored in that same Cardinals versus Cubs showdown. I have noticed that when weaker pitchers play against one of the top hurlers in the league, they tend to step up and play better than expected.

That is precisely what I am looking for with regards to Steven Matz. He struggled mightily as a starter before being sent to the bullpen. He has fared much better since that move. He recently came back as a starter following some injuries, and I believe he can avoid squandering a boatload of runs. 

 

SYSTEM PICK #3: Under 9.5 Giants-Reds (@ -105 odds)

 

The under has posted an 8-3 record in San Francisco’s last 11 games overall. Meanwhile, Cincinnati’s past 10 games yielded a 7-3 record in favor of the under.

Alex Cobb is usually a fairly good pitcher, but he’s been literally on fire of late. In fact, he has not allowed more than two runs in each of his past four outings.

Cobb will be squaring off against rookie Andrew Abbott. His 1.01 WHIP statistic this season is superb! He has been very solid, except in one start at Milwaukee.
