Free MLB Picks Tuesday June 20, 2023
In this article, I’ve got 2 betting picks in Major League Baseball to share with you for today’s slate of games.
Yesterday, I shared four betting tips in total in Major League Baseball. Unfortunately, the two free ones lost, while the two paid picks at mjpicks.com were winners. Let’s hope we have better luck today!
SYSTEM PICK #1: Chicago Cubs (@ -120 odds, at Pittsburgh Pirates)
My first system pick goes to the Chicago Cubs, who are supported by “The Blowout #1” betting strategy. I have mentioned several times how I trust Marcus Stroman a lot. He has now allowed two runs or fewer in 9 of his past 10 starts. That’s incredible!
The Pirates will counter with Johan Oviedo, whose 1.47 WHIP statistic is quite bad. He has a tendency to walk too many batters, in my opinion.
Final decision: Official pick
SYSTEM PICK #2: St. Louis Cardinals (@ -137 odds, at Washington Nationals)
The second system pick goes to the St. Louis Cardinals. Why?
The main reason is they are backed by “The Comeback” betting angle, which recommends betting a team that just came back from a deficit of at least four runs against the same opponent, unless they are big favorites today.
After digging themselves into a 5-0 hole, the Cards stormed back to take yesterday’s game against the Nationals by an 8-6 score.
Jordan Montgomery has been doing fine lately. In fact, he has surrendered a total of six runs over his past 23 innings pitched, which corresponds to a 2.35 ERA.
Meanwhile, MacKenzie Gore is coming off a solid outing during which he blanked Houston. But prior to that starts, he had allowed 16 runs in 28 innings, which amounts to a 5.14 ERA.
It’s interesting to note that the Cards have fared better on the road than at home, while Washington has obtained a better record on the road than at home, which is weird!
The Nationals have been going in a downward spiral. During their past 14 games, they have posted a 2-12 record.
St. Louis also underwent a very bad stretch, but they are currently riding a three-game winning streak after beating the Mets twice and the Nationals once. Let’s go with St. Louis in this one.
Final decision: Official pick
