Free MLB Picks Wednesday August 30, 2023

Today I would like to share 3 MLB picks with you.

Are you ready? Let’s rock and roll!

SYSTEM PICK #1: Chicago Cubs (@ +109 odds, vs Milwaukee Brewers)

Pick #1 goes to the Chicago Cubs straight up as slight home underdogs. This pick is backed by a betting system called “The Snapped Winning Streak.” Let me give you more information regarding this lucrative betting strategy.

In short, it suggests betting AGAINST the road team if they lost their past contest after winning at least five in a row. In this case, the Brewers are the visiting team, and they rode a nine-game winning streak that got halted in Chicago yesterday. So, according to the rules, we’ve got to FADE Milwaukee, which explains the Cubs pick.

This MLB betting system has produced a 17-10 record this season at average odds of -106 in American format (i.e. 1.94 in decimal). The corresponding ROI turns out to be +20.9%.

The Cubs have been on a roll since July 18: they have posted a 27-12 record since then!

SYSTEM PICK #2: Tampa Bay Rays (@ -115 odds, at Miami Marlins)

The next two picks are supported by “The Blowout #1” betting strategy that advises to bet any team that won its past game by a margin of at least eight runs, if the are facing the same opponent once again.

By virtue of these rules, my second pick for August 30 is the Tampa Bay Rays. They destroyed the Marlins by a nine-run margin yesterday, so let’s hope they keep it up.

Jorge Soler may not be available after leaving yesterday’s game with right hip soreness. That would be a big blow for Miami.

Jesus Luzardo skipped a start for extra rest after showing signs of fatigue. His career ERA is 4.30, while his ERA in games where he obtained 6+ days of rest is 4.31. In other words, getting more time in-between his starts has not produced impressive results. He owns an 0-2 career record against Tampa.

Zach Eflin has struggled in Miami throughout his career, as evidence by his 1-5 record and 6.43 ERA in that stadium. That’s a source of concern for sure. However, he has been great in four of his last five outings.

SYSTEM PICK #3: Los Angeles Dodgers (@ -160 odds, vs Arizona Diamondbacks)

The third pick for today goes to the L.A. Dodgers, who are coming off an eight-run victory over their NL West division rival from Arizona. I suspect the Diamondbacks could be deflated because they lost the first two games of the series despite sending their ace pitchers to the mound: Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are 23-4 in August; that is mind-boggling! They will be hard to beat even though they are starting an inexperienced guy: Ryan Pepiot. Last year as a rookie he owned a good 3.47 ERA. He has only two appearances this year; in both cases, he allowed a single run (in 4 and 5 innings, respectively).

Rookie Brandon Pfaadt takes the mound for Arizona. His season ERA is bad at 5.91 ERA, but over his past seven outings he did much better with a 3.48 ERA. During this good run, he struggled in one game only, and that was against…the Dodgers.
