Free MLB Picks Wednesday July 19, 2023
Are you ready for a solid MLB pick for Wednesday July 19?
On Monday, we took the Cleveland Guardians as slight favorites in Pittsburgh. They delivered with an 11-0 victory.
Then, on Tuesday, I picked them again due to “The Blowout #1” betting system. They came through with another easy winner via a 10-1 win.
Now, can you guess my top baseball pick for Wednesday???
SYSTEM PICK #1: Cleveland Guardians (@ -126 odds, at Pittsburgh Pirates)
That’s right, I am at it again, and I am betting the Guardians to finish off this series with a three-game sweep!
First of all, please note that Cleveland fits under “The Blowout #1” betting strategy. The rules indicate to bet teams coming off a win by a margin of at least eight runs if they are facing the same opponent again. That’s the case here since the Guardians obtained the win last night by a nine-run margin.
I was thrilled to get such very reasonable odds despite Pittsburgh playing awful baseball, and given the very advantageous pitching matchup in our hands. Aaron Civale will take the mound for the visitors, and he has been super effective since missing 48 games due to a strained left oblique. Indeed, he has allowed two or fewer runs in all of his 8 outings, except just one where he gave up four runs to the Brewers. He currently holds a 2.65 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP statistic; you cannot ask for much better than this!
Meanwhile, the Pirates will counter with Rich Hill. I have told you on a few occasions this year how I do not trust the 43-year-old hurler. His numbers have been fairly bad, although not awful either, and I don’t believe things will get better for him during the second half of the season given his age. Can you believe that he has squandered at least three runs in each of his past six starts? That’s pretty bad stuff.
To me, this is an easy pick to make. The Guardians are much more motivated since they are in the playoff race while the Pirates are clearly building for the future. Cleveland needs a win to get back to a .500 record.
Pittsburgh has posted a 2-12 record over their past 14 games overall. At odds that are around -125 or -130, I gotta side with Cleveland here!
